Hélène Darne joined the Associated Schools Network team in December 2018.
She joined UNESCO in 1996 where she spent most of her career in the former Office of External Relations (now Priority Africa and External Relations).A graduate of a master's degree in Arabic, a certificate of Persian study and a magisterium of international negotiation, and having lived all her childhood and adolescence in Morocco then in the Comoros, it is quite natural that she turned to the international.
She was also a teacher in Guyana: teaching and pedagogy are subjects that this teacher's daughter particularly likes.
She is also the author of a translation of a short story collection into Arabic.
Apart from this, she enjoys reading, theatre, cinema and long mountain hikes whenever possible, especially with her son, to whom she has passed on her love of the great outdoors and nature.
