For the second year in a row, as part of UNESCO's Sound Week, ASPnet is calling on member schools to participate in the International Sound Week Competition "When Sound Creates the Image!" »And to make a very short film of less than 2 minutes from the original music created by the composer Gabriel Yared.

Schools can download the music and enter this Competition here.

The objective of this Competition is to get students to listen in order to see better, well beyond simple creation. Through education in image and sound, in its relationship, in creation, students are encouraged to develop comprehension and analysis capacities that go far beyond the film object: these capacities will allow them to better understand their environment, to better understand the other, in all its differences and its uniqueness, and to learn from these differences.

According to the individuals, according to their cultures also, the same sound composition will be interpreted differently: this Competition has a strong societal dimension where the invitation to intercultural dialogue is omnipresent - it is therefore much more than a simple Competition! -

With the international dimension of this competition, the Network of Associated Schools of UNESCO and the Week of Sound wish to transcribe the diversity, as much as the richness of visions that the same soundtrack can create. This international dimension is an educational tool for discussing with students the multiplicity of cultures and their impact on short films produced from the same starting instructions.

We are counting on you, so register now!
